And the winner is....
Yay!!! Congratulations LEAH!!!
The total number of comments for dooce's post (as it appears on the tags at the end of the post) is 42,232
Leah, you win with your bid of 38,000, you were the closest one without going over, Kathy you were close but went over, and sorry Miss Undaunted after consulting with the judges, they regret to inform you that your entry was disquialified since your bid came in after the comments were closed already :)
So Leah, I need your address (again! I know I had it but I don't know where it is!) to send you something, I'm almost done making it and will be posting it here once I take some pictures.
Thanks everybody for playing along! this was so fun and I needed something fun to happen around here, this has definitely kept me busy!
Let's do something fun!
I was visiting dooce today, She is a very popular blogger who is doing this giveaway of three wii & wii fits, so who wouldn't want something like that, right?!
Anyway, you're supposed to leave a comment on that post, and her mom will choose three lucky numbers. I was looking at the number of comments, and it has gone out of control! there's more than twenty thousand comments! TWENTY THOUSAND! that's one two and FOUR zeros! that is absolutely out of control!!! She's closing the comments on Wednesday at 5 pm, so I thought about doing a giveaway in MY blog too, I would like to see who can predict how many comments she will get on that one post before closing them on Wednesday.
The person who gets closest to the actual number of comments without going over (yes, just like in The Price is Right!) get's a yet-to-be-determined price from me! I promise it will be beautiful and it will be something made by me, I will also ship it to you, just because I can and I think it'll be fun.
So! who wants to play along?
I say she will get 48,562 comments, that's my bid, Bob.
Updated Tuesday @10 pm, I just checked the dooce comment status, we're at comment number 26,052

Found art Tuesday June 24, 2008: COLLECTION

These pictures have nothing to do with the topic for Found Art Tuesday, but I just had to say that no one is more surprised than me to see a sewing machine in my desk, I'm experimenting a little bit with thread and paper. (because I do not own one scrap of fabric, isn't that sad??) And who knew I had a sewing machine, anyway? Apparently we got it as a wedding gift EIGHT YEARS AGO! and after deciphering the manual, I finally threaded the little monster. I thought it was the most complicated machine in the world, even though I know it must be one of the simpler models. I've already broken one needle, but I finally got the hang of it, next on my list: get me some fabric! (anybody wanna swap?)
So, a little late with the topic today! COLLECTION A COLLECTION OF THOUGHTS, of things, of colors.
It's been a fun day so far. I had THREE hours for myself this morning because things one and two were in summer camp, they are having so much fun, and I am getting more time for me which is so fantastic! This morning I met a dear friend at a grown-ups restaurant, you know, the ones where they have white table cloths, and we had breakfast like normal adults! No kids eating off my plate or running around everywhere.. oh I missed them so much...
new banner!
some days there's not a lot to say, but I wanted to share how much I love my new banner, it cheers me up!
Undaunted: yes, this is an image from an assembly box I did. Here are some pictures of it.
I finished it just last week, it's inspired on the Lazarus story which I was reading the other day.
It is painted on a thick plastic sheet with acrylics, colored pencils and india ink. It is all stapled together and mounted on a cigar box with a glue gun :) I later added a few paper people walking off the drawing.
That little "4" in the upper right corner is a plastic thing I found in the parking lot of the grocery store the other day. I found several of them with different numbers and I have absolutely no idea what they are used for. Of course I picked up as many as I could find! (about 6) and can't wait to see where to use them.

photo update!
A Little of what we've been up to. Between melting on the heat (what is up with that heat??!!), a birthday Party where there were 26 kids out of control!! and I didn't even invite everyone I would've wanted, there were just so many, (Susan, if you're reading this , we missed you!)
And also we have Grandma over visiting from Mexcio, and oh how fun are we having. We just come home to touch base and maybe take a quick nap while outside is so so hot, before leaving again to do something fun.
The Piñata was a success!! I officialy have a three year old now, and you know how 3 is the new terrible 2's....
And on the art front, Metallic staples and Moi are still an item, we love each other forever and ever, and to declare my undying love, I just spelled "BFF" (best friends forever) on my arm with staples. ouch.
I also have one very exciting news! I made it to the front page of etsy!! woo-hoo!!! I didn't see it live, but thanks Robayre for taking the screen shot!! You ROCK! I'm thinking on saving my other arm to staple your name on it next!!
I want one of these!
Short post today, and just to give you an update, we survived the party, no trips to the emergency room, thank goodness, and just a quick note.... this is what I want for Christmas: a printer that draws directly on coffee! wow!
