Found Art Tuesday June 2, 2009
Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 08:11PM Yay!! Found Art Tuesday, in a Tuesday! I got on the wagon again, it took a few pushes and some cajoling, but they won.
It is made on a cigar box lid, you know how I love my wooden cigar boxes. (I have a soft spot in my heart for these and altoid mint tins)
I made this blue bird as a study on color for another bigger painting I'm working on and I worked on both paintings simultaneously, so the timing worked out perfectly. I wanted to find the perfect orange to go with this bluish gray I had already mixed, and I used an online site that robayre shared on one of her blog posts, called Color Scheme Designer 3. It lets you find the perfect color balance to the dominating color you want to use. It is an online application, no downloading anything and it is online awesomeosity, give it a try when you feel stuck!
I found this quote today while browsing the internet for a good quote to write on it, and It reads:
"Don't lose heart CARRY ON! carry on with that holy stubbornness which in spiritual terms is called perseverance".
Perseverance, I love that word.. oh but me and perseverance are not that tight, we fight sometimes, we need to get our space once in a while, but I do try to follow her from time to time, just to see what she does, all tidy an perfect in brand new dresses. It makes me want to be like her, and that doesn't sound so bad sometimes.
Also, please note The Cuteness of the bird. It is almost non-believable. I can't stand it, It even looks like I drew some eyelashes on that thing or something because it looks like the bird version of Bambi.
This was left on a park bench at Birkdale and I got some picutres that I'll upload a little later...
