    Omigosh! OMIGOSH!!!!

inspire%20ballantyne.jpg I recieved an invitation to participate in my first-ever art fair/show! It's called inspire! Ballantyne. {What a great name, isn't it?} It will be on the weekend of April 19 & 20. If you are in the area, PLEASE COME BY! I could use all the support I can get!
I am so happy and scared at the same time, because.. I have NO IDEA of how to prepare for one of these art fair/shows. Should I start producing things like crazy to sell? How many pieces should I have in a 10 × 10 ft booth? Is it ok to bring prints/other stuff besides original art? How many people go to these things? Will I sell anything?? Will I get at least one bathroom break? I am so excited by the idea of trying it, I have ordered more harboards online to be prepared, but who knows what means to be prerared?!! Have you done any art fairs? Any advice anyone?

    Rosa,
Congrats! I have done several shows with little success. BUt that is OK... You can sell your originals but you can also have your prints there. Have some of the prints in frames and signed and numbered...Bathroom breaks usually happen by asking the person in the both next to you to keep an eye on things or bringing a freind along to sit with you so you have someone in the both with you. I would probably produe a few more things. It has been my experieince that unless the show is well attened, sales are dismal for original art, jewelry sells well and so do things like notecards or pins of orginal art. Just my experience.
