Topic Found Art Tuesday August 7: CANDY

DSC02453.JPGDon't you love candy too? I have regular cravings for candy and not only the sweet kind. There's candy for the eye, candy for the soul, candy for the mind.

These on the picture are called Chupa Pop, Tutsi brand, cherry flavor with gum in the middle. I bring a bag with me when I go to Mexico because I haven't found them here, although I don't eat them that often (and my kids hate them!) I feel all happy inside when I see them in the pantry from time to time while looking for something else (like the nutella jar!)

Candy for the soul for me is a good book that I find myself reading when I should be asleep. Candy for the eye to me is going to Michaels and just browsing through all the papers, buttons and stamps that I never buy.

What is candy for you?

Around here....

1. Missing my mom and trying to get ourselves back in routine after her two week visit.

2. Watering a beautiful pot of  Hydrangea my mom bought for us. In spanish we call them Hortensia, it's also a girl's name.

3. Getting ready to hit the pool this afternoon! I can't believe it's August already!

Have a great weekend!!

Oh my goodness -- I never knew Hortensia was Spanish for hydrangea! And I'm a San Antonio girl who grew up in a Mexican family and ate her share of Chupa Pops! And what about those cookies that were like ice cream cones with a marshmallow-y filling -- what were those called? Do you know what I'm talking about -- it's going to bug me all day!

Thanks for this site. Your found art has inspired my young daughter and I to make tiny bouquets of wildflowers tied with ribbon and drop them off around town -- just a kind gesture and celebration of nature this time of year...
