Etsy store renamed

Cicada%20Mail.jpgSince I really really want to believe in Etsy and I really want to believe people are buying things from the etsy website, I have added new things to my store, the reason I want to believe is because I have this very expensive art habit that is hard to break, so I need to sustain it somehow. To keep things more interesting I have renamed my store. It's no longer "My etsy shop" as everyone call their etsy page. I had to give it a name, like when you name a puppy to make him feel at home. So, I named mine: INSPIRarte

sirena roja.jpgI was visiting other artist's pages, and there are some really good pieces of art there, almost all are emerging artists and lots of jewelry. It's so easy to get lost in there, visiting shop after shop. I particularly liked freelisa she has some original art but it looks like she's selling lots of prints and t-shirts. I also like erinzam, I have no words to describe how cool her books and prints are.

sirena.jpgI too have added some prints (at very reasonable prices! *wink, wink*) of a few of my paintings, my red and brown sirens who are sisters and have an interesting story.

Go to INSPIRarte, look around, stay a while.

I really *love* your red siren! And your Judas shrine is fantastic!!! Thanks for the mention in your blog- Unfortunately, I have not sold any prints through etsy yet. Unexpectedly, I did sell a painting last week though (yay). I am still trying to figure out the science of etsy (although I am not sure there is one). I started selling tees as a way to pay my bills between painting sales. And I am going to try to figure out a way to produce art prints more inexpensively.

I was doing the ebay thing for a while but I feel I had to really under value my art in order to sell it. Emerging artists do not have a real chance there. So Etsy did not seem that more appealing to me. I wish you luck with the new store. I love the name!

Rosa,
Great work on your shop. I know it takes time and energy and effort to put an etsy shop together. I have yet to do it, but someday I intend to. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

XO,
Melba
