Found Art Tuesday topic May 22, 2007: MOON
Happy Friday! This image is from another completed box for my upcoming July-August exhibit at Cafe Mia. I forgot to take pictures before placing the acrylic, so the pic is not too good, but you still get the idea (i hope!)
This week I've had so much work to do and when this happens, I start having all these ideas for new projects and paintings. It seems my mind works better when it's overloaded, I don't mean I work better under pressure, because I DONT. I completely freeze when faced with too much to do in a small amount of time. I would feel it's impossible to finish and sometimes get so frustrated I just want to throw everything out the window, which I have never done (except that one time in college and felt awful the next day.. long story) But then other times when I feel swamped with work, instead of throwing it all out (and not doing it at all) I just procrastinate, so I clean the bathrooms, change the water in the fish tank... etc. and also work on the projects, so I will not sleep at all and end up with a clean house, which is not so bad.
So this is how I feel right now, full of work! but this time instead of having deadlines for school or work, I'm setting the deadlines and it doesn't feel that overwhelming. I am actually getting lots of things done (sort of anyway).
For next week's topic I thought of "Moon" since she has been my constant companion all those times I haven't slept because of my tendency to procrastinate until the last minute. When I was in college (architecture school) my desk would be right next to the window, so I saw her walk around the sky and would sometimes talk to her and ask her what she thought of my decision to move the stairs to the other side of the living room so the kitchen would get some more counter space.
Have you ever talked to the Moon? Am I the only crazy one here? :)
