Guerilla Poetry

The thing I love about leaving pieces of found art is that I get to interact with someone I don't know, someone who could become a friend, or not. Someone that sits in the same spot I was seated maybe an hour ago. Someone who shares my same space but in a different time, minutes or hours later. We get to share something, in this case a painting or a little box. Today thanks to Marilyn I visited Poetry Thursday, where there's a prompt every week to make a poem. They are starting a new project called "Guerilla Poetry" and as you may already have guessed, they're making poems and leaving them for others to find. This is an ongoing project, and everyone can participate. I love these ideas of reaching out, trying to make a difference, sending messages like bottles to the sea, because it's not only the making of the art or the writing of the poem, it's the leaving it out there, that moves me.

I used to leave ATCs in library books on the shelves of fav books. It is fun to wonder or hear back from someone who found one.

The only thing that disappointed me about PT's guerrilla poetry project (thus far) is that I got all excited to look at photos in the group's Flickr pool...wanting to see where people had left their poetry. And no one posted any photos...I'm the only one. :(
