King of Cups

I have a new solo show coming up. Just yesterday I talked to the owner of Cafe Mia to set the dates. My work is going up June 1st. that means I have a little over a month to finish a zillion pieces I want to make. This time I'm working on smaller pieces, with lots of details and collage. There are also a few assemblage boxes that always take a lot of time. This one in particular I just finished yesterday. It's made in a cigar box lid. (Wood and paper) a tarot card, collage, beads, and one match. It's called "King of Cups" I framed it in a shadow box, (Posting picture later) I loved the way the textures came out, I drew flowers, a bird, and some doodling too.

This guy looks a little feminine, don't you think? with all the pinks and the flowers... there's something I wrote on the left corner: "He's now a 36 D" After all... if he's going to be the king of cups, he has to be, at least, a 36 D

Congrats! You did not mention the new show in your last email! Yea! I love this current piece. Your use of colors is very distinctive. I would say that D is the right cup size:) Oh I hope all goes well. Will the show have a theme? Or a title? I was curious how that works.

I do hope you'll post lots of photos from your show. Do you remember when we were talking about found art + poetry over on Ning? Poetry Thursday's prompt this week is to do some guerrilla poetry...and it's got me all excited all over again about that idea.
