Found Art Tuesday March 27, 2007: BIRD

Why did I paint this? I have no idea. Is one of those things that happens when I'm working. I wanted to draw a bird!! I even drew a bird for my new banner! so who is she? why does she has wings? and why is that little bird so lonely? I started doing something different. I drew a bird and then I added the landscape. It's been eons since I had made a landscape, and with trees?? where are these mountains? I never paint mountains.... I think this is why I couldn't finish it. I kept changing things over and over. I erased the first bird I made and drew a different one. I drew some more birds, there were too many, so I starting erasing them one by one, and started drawing a face, then the body, the wings came last. and this is when I felt I was getting somewhere. It feels to me like a "spring" piece. Rebirth, new beginning, hope.
This was made on a box I received on the mail, it was something vonage send me telling me how I needed to drop bellsouth and get me some vonage phone service. Instead I turned it into found art.
I painted it all blue and then added the mountains. In the back there's a drawing of a tree leaf. (I used a rubber stamp in wet paint)
Thanks so much to everyone for you comments and support. It's so wonderful to feel I have this little support group of my own where I can talk about things and be understood. thank you all.
I'm planning to leave this in the park this afternoon. The weather has been so nice today!
Please take a look at these contributions for this week's found art:
