Topic Found Art Tueday Feb 20 2007: INSPIRATION

Thanks to everyone who is participating in this project! woo-hoo!!  It's been great looking at all the different ways to interpret the same topic. It's given me so much inspiration to look at all the pieces, so I thought it might be a good topic for this week!

How do you get this sudden burst of creativity? Where do you find inspiration? I will usually get lots of ideas while doing everyday things like driving, doing laundry, etc. My mind just starts flying around and getting all these great ideas that sure enough are forgotten by the time I find a pen to write them down.

How can you jog your creative brain? With a warm cup of coffee in your hands? in a quiet commute to work? In the shower? In a book? Do you need to focus on a project and think of what you want to do and then get an inspired idea of how to do it, or are you surprised by the ideas coming out of nowhere while going about your day?

How do you go from this first idea to the next level and making it into something tangible? is anything lost or gained in the process? How would you communicate this process in a card or assemblage for a found art piece? What will the person who finds it understand of it? will he/she be inspired too?

So many possibilities with this one, I believe inspiration comes from everywhere, just make sure you're listening.
