The Seeds of Inspiration

superhero.jpgIt was a weekend of painting, thinking, drawing, getting lost in etsy a few times, but I finally managed to open a store in etsy! I have placed some journals I made, a few I made some months ago, others are more recent. My love for journals started in College. I love my journal, it's my sidekick, my friend, my peer. It helps me see myself when I read backwards through it. I'm not much of a writer, I'm more into drawing, planning layouts for paintings, drawing people in coffee shops or parks, making small annotations of pieces of songs, movie quotes, ideas for found art, all tied together by the process of drawing, thinking, reaching conclusions, and when I find myself empty, I go back, retrace my steps, read it and I always find myself hearing the little stream of creativity flowing again.

Maybe this is why I buy lots and lots of them, I buy them always with nothing on the cover, as a fresh canvas to paint something on. This one for art, I would say, and this one for poetry. Maybe a smaller one for my bag, another one for my bedside table.

Juliet.jpgI have quite a few I've made and I know I won't be able to use them all. I have some that I made for a project I explored about different sources of inspiration: A Writer's Fairy, a companion to a writer, to keep company, to help with the spelling, to keep distractions away and pencils handy. A Superhero journal for the big plans in our lives, our accomplishments, desires. The Juliet in us, romantic and passionate.

So this is why I put the journals in etsy, I loved making them, I read somewhere that artists are people who plant the seeds of thought, and I see these journals as seeds of inspiration. What would become of them? what wonderful drawings and writings and poems will fill their pages? I can't wait to see!

Please,

Come visit me!

Found you via Leah's blog ... how yummy! I've been journaling since I was 11, and I gotta tell you, it's been all those things that you talk about (and then some!) for me over the years. Cause really ... where else can you go to spill out your heart and get no judgment ... only a mirror that seems to soften and gain clarity at the same time over the years.

I have a large stock of blank journals that I'm always picking up here and there - whenever one calls to me - so when the current one is winding down, I have my own personal "shop" to choose from. I'll check out your shop and see if any call to me to add to my collection! :)

All the best ...
