Topic for next Found Art Tuesday: MUSIC

Remember these??? They were called CASSETTES and people used to record music in them, sometimes even out of the radio, and we would use these artifacts called Walkman to hear the music while going to school or doing homework, and it's still a mystery to me how they worked, so that when you switched from side A to side B you wouldn't hear side A backwards but would actually hear completely different music! this for me was right there with "Why is the universe infinite?" and "Where is Heaven supposed to be?"
Like everybody else, I don't hear cassettes anymore, I went along with the CD wave that took over, but like everyone else I didn't threw them out but saved my very favorite ones in a box that was buried for a long time underneath more boxes, and now that I am trying to sort out the things I don't need anymore, I found them and of course HAD to listen to everyone of them. I'm addicted and won't throw them out!! I love the memories they brought me of when I was in high-school, the tapes I had made FOR ME! and the ones I made myself.
I love the grainy sound and everything. It's been so long that it's like listening to this music for the first time again. The best part is that they're not labeled and I remember I used to know what was in them, but now I've forgotten so it's a complete surprise everytime I put a new one in. I like the way music makes you change your mood, think of colors or places. I will make a piece of art that reflects these feelings while listening to my cassettes! sadly, I don't have a walkman anymore. I used to love the feeling of music surrounding you and blocking out everything else. (what teenager doesn't ??) Music is a rich source of inspiration for me. What does music makes you feel?

My favorite tape ever, and the one I miss the most had a version of "Joanna, I love you", by Kool & the Gang on it. Only the lyrics were changed to "Tanaya, I love you". An ex (and still dear friend) recorded it, with the help of many of my high school friends singing along. Oh how I wish I had that back!
Thanks for the flashback!
