Best SPAM ever
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 01:16AM Today I was reading my email and got the usual spam messages, which by the way are getting smarter and more interesting, I wonder if they are tracking your interests now, the same way Amazon suggests new books and movies you might like based on the things you buy, are my spammers sending me spam I would be interested in? I find the ones that have a body of text that makes no sense at all really interesting to read, sometimes they seem to be random words that make some kind of weird novel. And then today I got a spam email that was selling some art product with this text:
Bendita sea la fecha que une a todo el mundo en una conspiración de amor.
Blessed is the season which engages the world in a conspiracy of love.
Referring to Christmas, I think. This has made me buy none of the art stuff they were trying to sell but has made me get interested in the writings of this Wright Mabie guy I plan to look up in the library once I go back to the US.. because, by the way... I'M IN BEAUTIFUL MEXICO writing on my laptop in a room filled with welcome balloons, roses and a nativity scene that has been in the family for generations...
In other news... I finally picked up my work from Cafe Mia that had been there since last September, the solo exhibit that was supposed to last one month, became a three month exhibit that I can't thank Marco and Mia enough for the opportunity of showing my work there. It was a great experience and it gave me the opportunity to share my work. And also I sold almost everything I hung up (something I was doubting that would happen) and had to bring new things and change things around a couple of times to keep it interesting. Last Sunday Stephanie Statham hung her work and I didn't have the chance to meet her in person since I was somewhere in the sky flying to Mexico, but I really admire her work and can't wait to see it in person, good luck Stephanie!
My Found Art piece for tomorrow (Cherish) is ready and will be posting it tomorrow, see you then!
