This was the final destination of Found Art Tuesday Number 8, "Secret" the Barnes and Noble gift card, with only $5 in it, was left in a drive thru ATM.
Because of it's size I was thinking of the way that whoever found it wouldn't think it was trash, so I thought this was a place where anyone would notice it. I didn't see who found it, but I'm sure they must've seen it! For a moment I almost decided not to leave it there because I know these ATMs have little cameras and someone could be watching me as I took pictures of their machine and thought maybe I could get in trouble, but I quieted my doubts, shushed my stomach butterflies and just took the pictures as fast as I could, before stepping on the gas and leaving the scene of the crime as if I had just robbed the bank. Now that I think of it, these drive thru ATMs also have cameras to see the licence plates, don't they? uh oh...
On another topic. Today I went to the super market and as I was strolling from aisle to aisle I saw a woman in front of me as she was leaving stuff in the shelves instead of taking them to put in her cart, so I thought she might work for the store and was returning items to their place. I took a second look and I saw her leaving pieces of paper here and there, so for a second I thought, maybe she's leaving something for other people to see? like I've been doing? could this be possible? well... sort of... she had a box full of cupons and she was leaving them with the items so if someone needed the product they would find a coupon right there! Isn't this fabulous!! It's these random acts of kindness that restores my faith in us, human beings... she must have a ton of other things to do, but she took the time to go and leave these coupons for others... I guess her project could be called.. Found Coupon Friday (I'll have to Google that)
Today I also received GREAT news from Cafe Mia, Marco (owner) called me to tell my they had sold 2 of my paintings today! yay! The paintings sold were flowers and matches and these bring the grand total of sold paintings to 6!! can you believe that!! Just yesterday we sold The Little Prince (one of my all time favorites) and today Travis (Manager of Cafe Mia) told me he wanted to buy Dante's Future (a piece with a lot of dark and underground meaning, I love this one) so the only ones I haven't sold yet are the two Sirens (is Mermaids a better name? I don't know) and I need to work on more pieces because looks like they want to keep my work up for a few more weeks. We are talking to this artist to schedule an exhibit of her work, it's GREAT I really like her paintings, it'll be great if she can work something out with Marco, it'll be wonderful meeting her.
Also today I took the commissioned painting for Cafe Mia there so that they could see it and give me some feedback, I wanted to see how it looked in the space. I think it looks really good! it's a triptych, each canvas is 20" x 25" it's been a challenge but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and it's going to look great!
Now I need to go beacuse tomorrow there's a lot of things to do, including a halloween party, and a trip to the airport to pick up my dear husband from a business trip!
Have a great weekend!
