my desk today

This is how my desk looks like today, It's a mess, I know... I've been working on a commission painting for Cafe Mia where I had this "great idea" (insert little emoticon with sarcastic face) of taking the menu and doing a mosaic collage with it. It's coming out great and I love it, but it's also taking forever to do! And I have to make every little square perfect so that the mosaic works, otherwise it doesn't look good. After the squares are in place, I'll draw some things on a few of them, like a coffee cup or an Italian chair, etc.. and I'll alter others with paint and tissue paper. I've had so many ideas for this painting but can't seem to get past the stage of gluing the little squares!! 
Also the space I'm working on now isn't too big, it's actually the guest bedroom, so whenever we've had guests I've had to pack everything up and make it disappear for a few days. That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to moving to our new house soon! it should be ready in about a month and I'm having my own studio there! So after the craziness of re-packing, un-packing and putting everything in it's place is done, I'll have my very own space to make art! Of course that doesn't mean it won't be messy, in fact, I guarantee it'll be messy as always, but like I used to say to my mom when I was a teenager, my mess is an organized mess and I know exactly where everything is.. most of the time anyway.

We are two peas in a pod! My mess is an organized one too! The mosaic is really cool looking...Can't wait to see what it looks like finished. How big is it?
